The Land Down Under

 

What:  Wapato Twilight Camp is a volunteer-led Girl Scout Camp in Tacoma.


 

When:  July 13th through July 17th of 2020 from 3 to 8 p.m.

 


Where:  Waller Road Grange at 2708 64th Street East in Tacoma.

 


Who: 

  • Campers - Girls in 1st through 6th grades in the fall.
  • Program Aides - Girls in 7th through 12th grade in the fall.
  • Volunteers - adults (18 and older).



Activities: Design a boomerang using aboriginal art and learn how to throw it. Prepare and taste unique Australian foods. Explore the Bush, the Outback, and a billabong to identify native plants and animals. Make a didgeridoo and learn how to play it. Practice your archery skills on the range. Play games, sing songs, and spend time with your sister Girl Scouts.  



Cost: 

  • Camper - $100. 
  • Program Aide - $50. (No discount)
  • Early Bird Discount - $10 off if postmarked by may 9, 2020.

  • Program Aide Deadline - May 9, 2020.
  • Early Bird Discount Deadline - May 9, 2020.
  • General Registration Deadline - June 1, 2020.

please note - due to low enrollment in 2019, we must receive an ample number of camper registrations by June 1, 2020, for us to hold camp as planned.

 


Volunteers:  adult volunteers are needed to lead units and assist with program activities.  A registration rebate is available for the first camper of an adult camp volunteer if attendance expectations are met.  Adult volunteers also receive a free camp t-shirt and patch.
